Jock itch smells similar to yeast or bread that becomes moldy.

The smell of jock itch can also have a sour aspect to it and you will usually have an itchy rash around your groin which can be red, slightly swollen and sometimes painful.

The antifungal that is best for jock itch is a prescription topical medication which includes econazole and oxiconazole.

Oral medicines such as itraconazole and fluconazole are good for jock itch as well.

Rashes of the groin or intertrigo and inverse psoriasis can be mistaken for jock itch.

You can tell the difference between jock itch and inverse psoriasis by the rash.

A rash that is caused by inverse psoriasis will appear as a smooth and often shiny rash and a jock itch rash will appear as a rash with peeling or flaking skin.

Jock itch can spread to other parts of the body if you touch the affected area after touching the area with jock itch.

Jock itch spreads most often from fungal infections of the foot known as athlete's foot.

Also jock itch can spread from one person to another person through skin to skin contact.

Scratching jock itch does make it worse so you should avoid scratching the jock itch when possible.

Jock itch is a fungal infection in the skin of the genitals, inner thighs, and buttocks.

The Jock Itch most often occurs when you wear tight-fitting clothing that traps in moisture.

Jock itch causes an itchy, red, often ring-shaped rash in the groin area.

Treatment for jock itch includes keeping the groin area clean and dry as well as applying topical antifungal medications.

While jock itch is spread by skin-to-skin contact, jock itch is not a sexually transmitted infection.

Instead jock itch is simply a fungal infection that's caused by excess moisture gathering in the groin area.

Jock itch can spread from one person to another by skin-to-skin contact, especially in warm, damp environments.

It can also spread to other areas of the body if someone touches the affected area and touches other body parts.

Jock itch often spreads from a fungal infection on the feet, known as athlete's foot.

The fastest way to cure jock itch is to use an OTC or prescription antifungal cream, ointment, gel, spray or powder.

In more serious cases, your healthcare provider may prescribe antifungal pills to treat jock itch.

For faster recovery from jock itch, it's also important to keep the area clean, dry and cool.

There are other rashes of the groin that can cause symptoms that are similar to jock itch.

The first is called intertrigo, which is a red, macerated rash at the groin fold that's not caused by a fungus.

Intertrigo commonly occurs in people who are obese and is caused by moist skin rubbing against other moist skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar does work to help get rid of Jock Itch.

You can apply some apple cider vinegar directly to the jock itch by pouring some apple cider vinegar onto a wash cloth and then wash the area where the jock itch is.

You can also add a cup or two cups of apple cider vinegar to your bath water and soak in the apple cider vinegar bath water solution for 30 minutes or so.

When I had jock itch I washed the area directly with apple cider vinegar and also soaked in some warm bath water with apple cider vinegar and after a few days of doing so the jock itch went away.

You can also use some fungal cream and even some Listerine to help with jock itch but the apple cider vinegar and apple cider vinegar bath helped cure my jock itch.

But I did use some Listerine before for the jock itch before I read online about using apple cider vinegar for the jock itch.
