I've used nothing but regular motor oil in my lawn mowers for years without doing any harm to the mowers engine.
Lawn mower oil and regular engine oil you put into your vehicle is not much difference except that lawn mower contains different additives that's supposed to protect your lawn mowers engine but I've had no problem using standard motor oil in my lawn mower and it's not as expensive as the motor oil sold for lawn mowers.
