Although most cockroaches do only come out at night I've seen some out during the day in an apartment I used to live in.
So the cockroaches do come out during the day as well.
Cockroaches are the most active during the night and when they're out during the day it usually means that their hiding place has been overcrowded which forces the cockroaches to come out during the day.
