The most famous ecologist is Charles Robert Darwin who was born in 1809 and died in 1882 and was a British naturalist that is best known for his work in establishing the theory of organic evolution by means of natural selection.

The lowest level of life that ecologist study is organismal level which is the most basic level of ecology and includes all the individual organisms which make up a population.

And each of the organisms has their own unique set of characteristics that can be used to identify it and the population level is the next level of ecology.

Ecologists do need math and most ecologists are self taught in math and the math communication when it's especially applied to ecology which exemplifies the need for a guide.

Ecology requires strong foundations in math, science, and critical thinking skills and for those preparing for an ecologist career should work on honing these skills: Problem solving and analytical skills.

The 3 things studied in ecology are organism, population and ecosystem.

Also studied in ecology are community, Synthesis and biosphere.

Most ecologists work outside doing research underwater or on land and other ecologists work in labs or in the community with natural resource manages or even government officials who develop policies.

Other ecologists also work in officers to analyze data and build computer models.

There are many different types of ecologists which include landscape ecology, population ecology, and behavioral ecology.

Other different types of ecologists include.

Aquatic Ecology. It deals with the study of ecosystems found in water bodies such as estuarine, freshwater and marine.
Microbial Ecology.
Terrestrial Ecology.
Taxonomic Ecology.
Systems Ecology.
Evolutionary Ecology.
Behavioral Ecology.
Population Ecology.

Ecology is mainly divided into two branches, they are autecology and synecology.

Autecology is the Ecology of an individual species and is also called species ecology.

Synecology is the Ecology of a population or community with one or more species and also called as community Ecology.

There are three broad approaches to the science of ecology – theoretical ecology, empirical ecology, and applied ecology.

There will be a steady demand for ecologists and environmental scientists in the foreseeable future.

While the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) does not report data specifically for ecologists, they do report job growth and salary data for environmental scientists and specialists.

The salary for ecologists has a broad range, based on the type of job, the level of education needed, and how much experience the person has in working as an ecologist.

The average ecologist makes $30,000 - $60,000 per year. Few ecologists make up to $100,000 each year.
