A 5 year old should wear diapers if they need them but if not then the 5 year old should be potty trained as they cannot go to Kindergarten in diapers without being potty trained and they would be made fun of in school.

5 years old is too old for wearing diapers all the time unless they have bladder or bowel issues and need the diapers.

Or if the 5 year old wants to wear the diapers all the time then that is also okay but other than that an 5 year old should be potty trained.

5 years old is not too old for diapers if they need the diapers for bed wetting or incontinence.

However a 5 year old should be potty trained and out of diapers if they are healthy and normal without any bladder issues.

But if the 5 year old requires diapers for bed wetting or in the daytime then they should wear them as there's no actual age limit for diapers.

Kids should stop wearing diapers between the ages of 3 to 4 years old which is when most kids are potty trained.

Although some kids are potty trained as early as 18 months to 2 years and stop wearing diapers then.

However until the child is at least 3 or older they are still prone to wetting their pants because their bladder is still weak and not able to hold the pee for too long.

So it's best to wait until after the child turns 3 to begin potty training to prevent wet pants.

It's normal and okay for the child to wear diapers until age 3 and even  4.

And if the child needs diapers at night or during the day for any reason then they should wear the diapers until they no longer need them.

The average age for potty training kids is between 18 months to 2 years of age.

That is for most kids who are ready to potty train at those ages.

Some kids are ready to potty train and get out of diapers as early as age 18 months and are fully potty trained by 2 years old.

The child may still need to wear diapers at night for bed wetting but they should be able to go all day without a diaper.

Some kids may not potty train and be out of diapers until age 3 years old to as late as 4 years old.

A kid will eventually potty train when they are ready.

It's normal for a kid to need to wear diapers for bed wetting from age 3 to as late as age 8 years old and even older.

Some kids will continue to wet the bed for quite awhile and it's normal and some kids may wet the bed until age 17 or 18 years old and some people wet the bed all their lives and that is also normal.

Forcing potty training too early can be harmful to the child's health because they may try to hold in their poop or pee and that can lead to kidney and bowel issues.
