There is no cure for lyssavirus rabies although there's a vaccine that can be taken to prevent the lyssavirus rabies.

The difference between rabies and the lyssavirus is that rabies is an infection that affects the brain and central nervous system which is caused by a type of virus called a lyssavirus that people usually get from a bite or scratch from an infected animal.

Lyssavirus is carried by bats in Australia.

Rabies is carried by mammals in many overseas countries.

Both are spread by bites and scratches.

Rabies is almost always fatal, but treatment can prevent the infection from developing.

You can get lyssairus from a dead bat although the chances of getting lyssavirus from a dead bat are low as the lyssavirus does not survive in a dead bat or outside a bat for very long.

Also any contact with bat feces or bat urine or bat blood does not pose any risk of exposure to the Lyssavirus.

You aren't at risk for rabies if: You touched a bat with intact, unbroken skin.

For example, picking a dead bat up by a wing with the index finger and thumb is not a rabies exposure risk.

You found a bat in a room where people were not sleeping.

The Lyssa virus when it infects your body causes your body to experience flu like symptoms at first such as headache, fever and fatigue.

Then as the illness of Lyssavirus progresses rapidly it can lead to paralysis, delirium, convulsions and even death within 1 to 2 weeks.

The disease that is caused by Lyssa Virus is Rabies which affects the central nervous system and is usually fatal without treatment.

Lyssavirus is the deadliest virus and the deadliest encephalitic disease that is known.

The prototype, rabies lyssavirus is thought to be able to infect all terrestrial mammals.

Humans can get Lyssavirus and most commonly from bats.

Lyssavirus is survivable with prompt medical treatment.

Lyssavirus (ABLV) is a virus that can spread from bats to humans, causing serious illness.

It is closely related to the rabies virus.

ABLV is very rare but can be fatal if not treated.

Lyssaviruses cause the disease rabies, which is a fatal encephalitic disease resulting in approximately 59,000 human deaths annually.

Rabies and Australian bat lyssavirus infection is almost always fatal after symptoms have appeared.

There is no effective treatment.

Preventive vaccination is recommended for certain people at increased risk of exposure.

People who have been exposed to a potential source of infection should seek urgent medical care.

Lyssavirus is a genus of RNA viruses in the family Rhabdoviridae, order Mononegavirales. Mammals, including humans, can serve as natural hosts.

The genus Lyssavirus includes the rabies virus traditionally associated with the disease of the same name.

Lyssaviruses are responsible for rabies, which is arguably the deadliest encephalitic disease known.

The prototype, rabies lyssavirus (RABV), is thought to be able to infect all terrestrial mammals.
