Is it mandatory to sign up for Medicare at age 65?

When you turn age 65 is it a mandatory requirement that you sign up for Medicare?

There's no law that says you have to sign up for Medicare.

But if you're receiving social security benefits then you will automatically be enrolled for medicare and won't be able to opt out of medicare when you're getting social security benefits.
