My cat is pregnant and I think the birth is coming soon. I don't know what to do, I've never dealt with this before. How do I prepare for this? Should I take her to the vet for the birth? Or stay home with her? Please help with any advice.

You can consult a vet if you are so worried about how the cat's birth will go. In general, cats are fine with giving birth on their own and don't need human help. But you can prepare yourself for the fact that you will have to take care of the cat and the little kittens. Most importantly, it is best not to touch the kittens until they open their eyes, because the cat may abandon the kittens and stop taking care of them. Incidentally, kittens are born with their eyes closed, don't worry when you see them like this. Also mom cats may feel bad the first few days after giving birth, just like women do. I would suggest you read an article about nursing cats https://cleverpetowners.com/why-does-my-nursing-mother-cat-have-diarrhea/. This way you will be prepared for how the cat will feel and when you just need to observe and when you need to go to the vet.

My parents have four cats and of course there are a lot of kittens all the time. All the cats gave birth perfectly well without any help and recovered quickly after birth. So you just need to prepare some clean and dry place for the cat to lay down. My parents put a large box with a baby blanket in it. Don't worry so much, everything will be fine.
