You should change your puppy pee pad after every 3 pees or uses.

However if the puppy or dog pees a lot then it should be changed right away but most puppy pads will last for up to 3 uses before they need changed.

You should leave pee on a puppy pad in the early days of training the puppy to pee on the puppy pad.

If your puppy pees on the floor put some of the pee onto the puppy pad so that the puppy gets the smell and gets used to the scent.

This can help the puppy know what the puppy pad is for as puppies and dogs tend to pee in spots they have peed in before.

In the early days of training your dog to use the training pads, it is actually good to leave out a pad that has been urinated on for a second or third use.

If the dogs smell their urine somewhere, it means instinctively it's okay to go there and that will reinforce the habit.

While pads can be part of a greater housebreaking plan for your pup, encouraging the dog or puppy to use the pads as a first step requires its own training.

If you and your pet have consistent, frequent access to a safe outdoor space, starting them outdoors from the get-go can be a great option.

Most puppy pads need changing after a maximum of three uses.

However, should the puppy pad start giving off a smell, it's time to swap it out with a new one.

Unused puppy pads can stand for a couple of days.

Keep in mind that the hydrogel can also absorb various odors.

Take your puppy to the potty pad anytime they haven't been for an hour or two.

Bring your puppy to the potty pad whenever you suspect it's time.

But if he doesn't go, don't let him run around and play.

Instead, put him back in his crate for 10-15 minutes, then immediately try again.
