A person who has the flu is contagious for the duration of the flu but you're most contagious during the 1st day of the flu.
You'll continue to be contagious for up to 7 days or until the flu is gone which could take a bit longer.
Some strains of the flu go away within 7 days and some more severe strains of the flu virus last up to 2 weeks.
