MAPP gas is hotter than propane as MAPP gas has a maximum temperature of 3,730° F compared to propane's 3,600°

Hence, MAPP gas can grill barbecue quicker than propane.

MAPP (5300*F) burns much hotter than MAP-Pro (3730*F) or propane (3600*F).

Propane at around $3 per bottle and MAP-Pro at around $10 from local big box stores (US).

MAPP gas requires a specially made torch head to operate the MAPP gas safely because MAPP gas burns at a hotter temperature than propane.

So you should not and cannot use MAPP gas in a propane torch.

When using MAPP gas make sure to use a MAPP gas torch head and not a propane torch head.

The MAPP gas may work some in the propane torch head but it is dangerous to do so and can burn you and cause severe injury.

Always use the correct tool for the job.

If you're using MAPP gas use a MAPP gas torch head for the MAPP gas.

Then use a propane torch head for a Propane cylinder.
