Scotchgard does not repel cat hair or dog hair or other pet hair although it does repel liquids and blocks stains.

The best broom for pet hair is a rubber broom with electrostatic rubber bristles that can clean up anything from pet hair to dirt, grass, and debris.

Vacuuming obviously helps with dog hair, but there's another trick: using a spray bottle, lightly mist your carpet with water.

Then, use a broom to sweep up clumps of hair before running the vacuum.

The moisture causes the hair to stick together, and a stiff bristled broom will pull it right up.

A dogs fur will grow back if you cut it although if it's due to a disorder or hormone imbalance or thyroid problem then the dogs fur may not grow back without treatment.

You can get your dog's hair to grow back by feeding them a healthy diet and fish oil supplements and supplying them with Vitamin E and Vitamin A supplements.

Also thyroid medication and hormone therapy can also reverse dog hair loss in hormonal and endocrine disorders.

Dog shedding fur is normal although when your dog sheds more than normal it can be caused by sunburn, stress, fungal infections, mange or even parasites.

Thyroid problems in dogs and even cats can cause them to shed more than normal and lead to inflamed skin and brittle hair.

Giving your dog a bath regularly and bathing them helps with shedding and also helps remove dead hair which can intertwine with healthy hair.

Dogs need a bath every 21 days to 30 days.

Long-hair dog breeds often shed during the spring season and sometimes require more baths to remove dead coat layers.

Most dog experts recommend bathing your dog every 21 to 30 days to promote a healthy coat and aid shedding.

Shedding in dogs is perfectly normal unless the dog is suddenly shedding too much of it's fur.

Dogs shed seasonally although most shedding of dogs occurs in the fall and spring.

During the spring months the dogs fur coat becomes lighter in preparation for warm water.

And in fall the dogs fur coat becomes thicker in preparation for winter.

Some things you can do to get your dog to stop shedding so much are.

Brush Your Dog often.
Give your dog a Fatty Acid Supplement. ...
Cover Your Furniture and Car Seats.
Use allergy and Flea Control. ...
Vacuum Often.
Bathe Your Dog Occasionally During the Summer.
Use the Right Brush.

Allergies, diet, and stress are all factors that may lead a dog to shed more heavily than what is considered usual for their breed.

Shedding season for a pup can last for 2-4 weeks but you can make it.

While dog shedding may not be so enjoyable, there is a lot about Fall to enjoy.

Some of the best dog foods that are good for keeping your dogs coat healthy and prevent them from shedding so much include.

Purina Pro Plan Adult Dry Dog Food – Best Overall.
Crave High Protein Dry Dog Food – Best Value.
Nom Nom's Beef Mash Fresh Dog Food – Premium Choice.
Purina Pro Plan Puppy Sensitive Skin & Stomach Dry Dog Food – Best for Puppies.

Dogs will always naturally shed their coats but you can stop the dog from shedding as much by using Olive Oil.

Just add a tablespoon of Olive Oil to the dogs food everyday and the Olive Oil will slow down the dogs shedding of it's coat since the Olive Oil contains omega-3 fatty acids which helps to condition the dogs skin and coat which helps to prevent the shedding.

You can also buy a suit you put on your dog that will help contain the fur that the dog is shedding.

There's also some natural medicine that you can buy at Pet stores that contain Salmon Oil which when the dog takes the medicine it will help the dogs coat as well and prevent the dog from losing as much hair.
