Bleach will kill most small trees and dry out any tree leaves.
However for large trees it can be hard for bleach to kill it.
Salt will kill a tree but it will take around a year or so for the salt to fully kill the tree.

When you drive a copper nail into the trunk of the tree it interferes with the tree's vascular system that is responsible for carrying water and nutrients throughout the tree.
Without those waters and nutrients the tree and tree roots will eventually die.
Epsom salt and copper sulfate will kill tree roots naturally.
To get rid of tree roots under concrete you'll need to remove the concrete that is over the tree roots.
Then dig out the tree roots and cut the tree roots out.
Then replace the concrete with new concrete.
