When you have an infection in your body you will usually have a fever, chills, sweats and sore throat or mouth sore or a change in cough or new cough.

To know for sure if you have an infection in your body a bacterial culture test can be used to find any harmful bacteria in or on your body that can be making you sick.

To have the bacteria culture test done you will either have a blood test, skin test, urine test etc depending on what type of infection you have.

The five signs of an infection are fever, chills and sweats, Sore Throat, Stiff neck and Burning or pain with urination.

The signs of the infection depend on what type of infection you have as different types of infections cause different symptoms.

A stomach infection or norovirus would cause abdominal cramping, diarrhea and vomiting while other infections can cause muscle aches, fever, sore throat etc.

Some infections are not serious while other infections can be life threatening.

When you have the norovirus you'll know from the symptoms of the norovirus which include stomach cramping, diarrhea and vomiting.

Also some other less common symptoms of the norovirus include muscle aches, headache, chills and low grade fever.

The symptoms of the norovirus usually start 1 to 2 days after ingesting the virus but the symptoms of the norovirus may also appear as early as 12 hours after exposure.

The norovirus is contagious for up to 3 days after you recover so you should stay home for at least 3 to 4 days after you recover from the norovirus to prevent spreading it to other people.

A person who has norovirus remains contagious for up to 3 days after recovery from the norovirus and at the beginning of the novirus.

People infected with norovirus are contagious from the moment they begin feeling ill to at least 3 days after recovery.

Some people may be contagious for as long as 2 weeks after recovery.

Therefore, good hand washing is important.

The norovirus can be found in just about any food however certain types of foods are most common for norovirus to be found in.

The foods that are commonly involved in norovirus outbreaks include: leafy greens (such as lettuce), fresh fruits, and. shellfish (such as oysters).

Also the Norovirus infection occurs most frequently in closed and crowded environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, child care centers, schools and cruise ships.

You can catch the norovirus through food that is contaminated with the norovirus or through tiny particles of feces or poop from a person who is infected with the norovirus that can get into your mouth accidentally.

You can get norovirus by accidentally getting tiny particles of feces (poop) or vomit from an infected person in your mouth. have direct contact with someone who is infected with norovirus, such as by caring for them or sharing food or eating utensils with them.

When people infected with norovirus vomit, they release virus particles into the air that can infect other people, researchers report

The  Norovirus is often called the "cruise ship" virus due to numerous outbreaks at sea.

The first signs of the norovirus or stomach flu, stomach bug are stomach cramping, bloating and a feeling like you may want to vomit.

When you come down with a norovirus infection, you'll most commonly go from feeling completely healthy to absolutely miserable within a day or two after being exposed.

Typical symptoms of the norovirus include nausea, vomiting (more often in children), watery diarrhea (more often in adults), and stomach cramps.

Norovirus is food poisoning although you can get norovirus other ways as well.

The norovirus illness is may also be referred too and called “food poisoning,” “stomach flu,” or “stomach bug.”

Noroviruses are the leading cause of foodborne illness, however other germs and chemicals can also cause foodborne illness.

Norovirus can easily contaminate food and water because it only takes a very small amount of virus particles to make you sick.

Food and water can get contaminated with norovirus in many ways, including when: An infected person touches food with their bare hands that have feces (poop) or vomit particles on them.

After a tummy bug or stomach bug, stomach flu etc you should eat foods such as chicken noodle soup, broth, soups, rice and chicken, rice, bananas, toast, gelatin and crackers.

Avoid certain foods until you feel better.

These foods include dairy products, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, processed foods, and fatty, spicy or highly seasoned foods.

The best thing to do for a stomach bug is to drink plenty of fluids such as water, tea, sports drinks, broth or even Pedialyte.

Also get plenty of rest and within 2 days you should begin to feel better and consider eating foods on the BRAT diet for the stomach bug.

The BRAT diet consists of foods which include bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast  which can be your go-to when it comes to an uneasy stomach.

These four foods are easy to digest, contain carbohydrates to give you energy, and replenish nutrients:

Bananas: Bananas are easy to digest, can replace the potassium you lose from vomiting and diarrhea, and strengthens stomach lining.

Rice: White rice is easy for your body to process and provides energy from carbs.

Brown rice has too much fiber and may produce excess gas.

Applesauce: Applesauce provides an energy boost due to the carbs and sugars, and it contains pectin, which can help with diarrhea. It’s also easy to digest.

Toast: Avoid whole-wheat bread, as fiber can be difficult on the digestive system.

White bread is processed and easier to digest.

When you have a stomach bug it's best to avoid eating anything and starve the stomach bug.

Sip on some hot tea or water and avoid eating anything for at least the first day of the stomach bug to keep your stomach basically empty.

This will allow anything else that is in your stomach to be digested and leave your stomach so you'll feel better.

Then after the first day when you begin to feel better start by eating something such as chicken noodle soup, toast, any other noodles, apples, bananas, some rice etc.

You shouldn't eat solid food at all while you're actively vomiting.

Once you start to feel better and your nausea and vomiting stop, opt for foods that are easy to digest.

This can help you avoid additional stomach irritation.

A bland diet, such as the BRAT diet is a good one to follow while you recover from the stomach bug or stomach flu.

In rare cases a stomach bug can last a week, although in most cases a stomach bug will go away within a few days.

Stomach viruses are often mild and go away on their own in 1 to 3 days.

Babies, older adults, or people who have low immune systems should see the doctor right away.

This can help prevent their infection from getting worse.

You can have a stomach bug or stomach flu without vomiting.

Not all cases of the stomach bug or stomach flu will cause vomiting or even diarrhea.

Although you may sometimes feel like vomiting but you may not vomit.

Most stomach bugs or stomach flu's will get out of your system within 24 hours to 48 hours although in some cases the stomach bug or stomach flu may last a few days longer and could last 3 to 4 days.

However most stomach bugs are nothing serious and go away within 2 days so you should begin feeling slightly better after the first day of the stomach bug or stomach flu.

The stomach bug also known as the stomach flu is most commonly caused by the norovirus.

However other things such as bacteria, other viruses, eating bad food etc can cause the stomach bug or stomach ache that seems like the stomach flu.

The norovirus is a common virus that can cause gastroenteritis.

Norovirus is the most common cause of vomiting, diarrhea, and foodborne illness.

You can get sick and get the stomach bug from bacteria, parasites, toxins and viruses.

Viruses are the most common cause of so-called stomach flu.
