The things you cannot clean with baking soda include.

Antique silver.
Although baking soda can pretty quickly remove tarnish from silverware, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea to use it as it could ruin the silvers finish.
Marble.
Ceramic cooktop.
Aluminum.
Gold-plated items.
Aluminum cookware.

Baking soda should also not be used for cleaning silverware, wooden floors, wood furniture or stone countertops.

The abrasiveness of baking soda can ruin sealants and finishes of wood and even cause staining.

Instead, opt for a mixture of dish soap and water to clean any wood surfaces.

And because baking soda is an abrasive cleaner it can scratch glass so it's best to avoid using baking soda on glass although vinegar works great for cleaning glass without scratching it.

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda or bicarbonate of soda, is a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO₃.

It is a salt composed of a sodium cation and a bicarbonate anion.

Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline, but often appears as a fine powder.

Baking soda is also a leavening agent used in baked goods like cakes, muffins, and cookies.

Formally known as sodium bicarbonate, it's a white crystalline powder that is naturally alkaline, or basic.

Baking soda becomes activated when it's combined with both an acidic ingredient and a liquid.
