Why is my steering wheel shaking at high speeds?

Whenever I accelerate in my car the steering wheel starts shaking and trying to vibrate out of my hands?

The steering wheel only shakes when I get above 45 MPH but stops shaking when I slow down?

What could be the cause of a steering wheel shaking at high speeds?

A steering wheel shaking at high speeds usually indicates that you have an out of round tire or unbalanced tire.

You could also have a bent wheel causing the steering wheel to shake at high speeds.

I would take the car into a tire shop and have them look over the tires and see if they need balanced or replaced.

Bad brake rotors can also cause a steering wheel to shake at high speeds so get those checked as well.

But it's most likely and unbalanced tire or out of round tire that is causing the shaking of the steering wheel.
