The amount of cloth diapers you need to potty train is between 14 to 18 cloth diapers.

Since you'll be using the cloth diapers for potty training the child won't need changed as often and you'll go through less cloth diapers than you would with a non potty training child or baby.

The cloth diapers can help with potty training as they keep the child feeling wet unlike disposable diapers that keep the child feeling dry due to the SAP or super absorbent polymer.

You can start using cloth diapers at birth or you can wait until the baby is out of the newborn stage where they use less diapers.

Cloth diapers are a lot of work so it's usually best to wait at least until the baby is a few months old or until the baby is 1 year old before using cloth diapers.

However you can use cloth diapers at anytime you want to use them.

And some people prefer to wait for 2 to 3 weeks after the baby is born to use cloth diapers.

The amount of cloth diapers you use in a day depends on the age of the baby or toddler.

For example newborns will usually need around 10 to 12 cloth diapers per day and infants may only need 10 cloth diapers per day.

For toddlers they usually only need 3 to 6 cloth diapers per day depending on the age of the toddler and how much they pee or poop.

When using cloth diapers you should have at least 2 days to 3 days worth of cloth diapers available.

For example for newborns you should have at least 36 to 40 cloth diapers and for infants around 24 to 30 cloth diapers and for toddlers usually 20 cloth diapers are enough as toddlers need less diaper changes.

Also make sure you wash cloth diapers daily or at least every few days to ensure you have enough clean cloth diapers available for use.

The percentage of parents that use cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers is around 9 percent.

Only around 9 percent of parents with kids in diapers use or have used cloth diapers while the other 91 percent of parents use or have used disposable diapers.

The disadvantages of cloth diapers are the cloth diapers keep the baby feeling wet, the cloth diapers can give your baby a rash, cloth diapers are less sanitary than disposable diapers, cloth diapers require work to clean and keep clean, cloth diapers use detergent and water to clean.

Also another disadvantage to cloth diapers is you have to carry the dirty or wet cloth diapers back with you when away from home but with disposable diapers you can just throw them away.

Parents use cloth diapers instead of disposables for reasons such as saving money, because they cannot afford disposable diapers or because they think it's better for the environment.

Some parents don't have the money to buy disposable diapers monthly and have to use cloth diapers instead and some parents use cloth diapers because they think it saves them money or because they think they are doing something good for the environment.

Some babies do get more diaper rashes with cloth diapers than they do with disposable diapers.

The reason some babies get more diaper rash with cloth diapers is because the cloth diapers don't absorb the pee as good or hold the pee away from the skin as good as disposable diapers.

Peeing in a cloth diaper is similar to peeing in underwear or a towel and sitting in it.

While peeing in a disposable diaper is very different as the pee is locked into the diaper through the use of SAP or Super Absorbent Polymer.

So the skin stays drier when the baby is wearing a disposable diaper than it does when the baby is wearing cloth diapers.

Some pediatricians recommend cloth diapers for some babies although other pediatricians don't recommend cloth diapers and recommend disposable diapers such as Pampers Diapers.

When cloth diapering you save some money in the short term but when you add up the cost of the detergent, electricity, water etc and your time you don't really save any money in the long run.

Disposable diapers can be bought pretty cheaply now if you buy the cheaper brands of disposable diapers.

Buying cloth diapers costs around $200.00 to $300.00 for the amount of diapers you'll need.

Then you have to factor in buying the laundry detergent, the cost of the water and electricity to wash and dry the diapers and the cost of your time to wash and clean those diapers.

You also need to change your babies cloth diaper more often with cloth diapers and with cloth diapers babies are more prone to diaper rashes.

It depends on how much per month you spend on diapers and depends on how many kids you have in diapers.

I had one kid in diapers when I tried to switch him over to cloth diapers thinking I would save some money.

I was spending $1.00 per day on average for his disposable diapers so I saved $1.00 per day or around $30.00 per month using cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers.

But I had to work around 2 hours per day cleaning the poop out of his diapers and then soaking them and then washing them and then drying them out.

So although I saved $1.00 per day I had to work 2 hours per day and in those 2 hours I could've worked at my job and earned $20.00 since I make $10.00 per hour at my job.

I decided to switch him back to disposable diapers because I'd rather spend that time playing with my baby instead of slaving away working to clean diapers.

Changing the diapers was bad enough and I decided that it was worse to clean diapers especially poop ones.

Also there's the cost factor of the cloth diapers too and you have to make sure you have plenty of them on hand while the others are being cleaned and drying.
