When your catalytic converter has gone bad some symptoms you should notice are, car hard to start, car doesn't accelerate as fast when you step on the gas pedal, your car will suffer from poor gas mileage and your check engine light has come on.
If you notice your cars getting poor gas mileage and/or you start losing engine power it could be a bad or clogged catalytic converter that needs replaced.
