Pigs should not eat raw meat although they can eat cooked meat.

If you have leftover cooked meat that is not contaminated it can be fed to pigs.

It's also good to feed pigs vegetable oils, eggs, dairy, grains, fruits and vegetables.

Even though pigs got a strong digestive system and can digest and break down most of what they eat but pigs can get sick from eating raw meat.

Pig stomach pH stands at 2.5, with such high acidity, they do not have difficulty digesting many treats.

However, this does not entitle them to eat whatever comes their way.

Foods that are poisonous to pigs are.

    Cabbage roots and seeds.
    Broccoli roots and seeds.
    Mustard root and seeds.
    Apple seeds.
Green/unripe acorns and young oak leaves.
    Tomato leaves and vine.
    Avocado skin and pit.
    Rhubarb leaves.

The cheapest way to feed pigs for butchering is to use ground feed from your local feed mil.

If this is not an option for you, the next cheapest is to make your own feed at $0.22/pound.

Most pigs love cooked broccoli, pitted apricots, cucumbers, dark green lettuce, cooked potatoes, beets, grapes, pumpkins, all squashes, zucchini, snow peas, spinach, yams, kale, tomatoes, chard, carrots, pears, apples, berries, oranges, grapefruit, melons, pitted cherries, pitted peaches.

Bananas can be fed to pigs either fresh, ensiled (Le Dividich et al., 1976a; Le Dividich et al., 1976b), or in the form of a dry meal, even though the latter is extremely difficult to achieve.

Ripe bananas are very palatable and their degree of ripeness affects performance.
