2 hours long surgery is a long surgery but it's not considered too long.

Surgeries can go on as long as 6 to 12 hours which is considered a long surgery.

In some rare cases surgery may go on for 24 hours or longer.

The longest surgery time is 4 days which was performed on a 58 year old patient to remove a 300 pound ovarian cyst.

Most surgeries are no longer than 24 hours though but in rare cases surgery may last longer.

After surgery you might fart within 30 to 60 minutes or it may take as long as a few hours to a few days before you begin farting and passing gas.

After the surgery you might not have a bowel movement or poop for 4 to 5 days following the surgery which is normal.

The 5 major surgeries are.
Heart Surgery.
Brain Surgery.
Triple Bypass Surgery.
Organ Replacement Surgery.
Bariatric Surgery which includes gastric bypass surgery.

The surgery that takes 3 months to heal from is Liposuction weight loss surgery.

While Liposuction weight loss surgery is a minimally invasive procedure it does take a long time to heal from and recover from fully.

The surgery that has the longest recovery time is Liposuction.

Liposuction surgery can take up to 3 months to recover from.

Other surgeries with the longest recover time are.

Rhinoplasty.
Breast Reduction surgery.
Breast Augmentation.
Facelift.
Tummy Tuck.

The top major surgeries are.

Appendectomy.
Breast biopsy.
Carotid endarterectomy.
Cataract surgery.
Cesarean section (also called a c-section).
Cholecystectomy.
Coronary artery bypass.
Debridement of wound, burn, or infection.

The surgery that has the shortest recovery times are appendectomies and Vasectomies.

Appendectomies and Vasectomies are 2 fairly common surgeries that have the shortest recovery times.

If you prefer to wear a diaper during surgery instead of using a catheter then you can wear an adult diaper during surgery.

Or for a child that is undergoing surgery for longer than a few hours then it's recommended that the child wear a diaper even if they are potty trained to prevent accidents.

Patients do sometimes pee during surgery although a urinary catheter is often used on patients during surgery to keep the bladder empty and prevent the patient from peeing on themselves during surgery.

The reason you have to shower twice before surgery is to remove germs and bacteria from your skin which could cause an infection after surgery.

Before surgery you'll usually be asked to shower and wash your body with a special soap called ChlorHexidine Gluconate (CHG or HIbiclens) before surgery.

The reason you shouldn't wear any deodorant before or during surgery is because the deodorant leaves a residue on your skin which makes it difficult for the surgeon to cut through the skin and makes it difficult for the surgeon to accurately assess your skin circulation during surgery.

The riskiest surgery is brain surgery and open heart surgery.

Brain surgery is one of the most riskiest surgeries.

The most riskiest surgery is a Craniectomy surgery.

The Craniectomy surgery involves removing a fraction of the skull to relieve pressure on the brain and is one of the highest risks surgeries.

Regular brain surgery is also the next highest risk surgeries there is.

And then Open Heart Surgery is also on the list of being the highest and most riskiest surgeries.

Other high risk surgeries include.

Thoracic aortic dissection repair.
Oesophagectomy.
Spinal osteomyelitis surgery.
Bladder cystectomy.
Gastric bypass.
Separation of conjoined twins.

Some other high risk surgeries include.

Small bowel resection (removal of all or part of a small bowel).

Gallbladder removal.

Peptic ulcer surgery to repair ulcers in the stomach or first part of small intestine.

Removal of peritoneal (abdominal) adhesions (scar tissue).

Major surgery is any invasive operative procedure in which a more extensive resection is performed, e.g. a body cavity is entered, organs are removed, or normal anatomy is altered.

In general, if a mesenchymal barrier is opened (pleural cavity, peritoneum, meninges), the surgery is considered major.

While any surgical procedure has risks, bariatric surgery has been found to be one of the safest surgeries to undergo.

It is considered as safe or more safe when compared to other elective surgeries.
