You can spray lemon juice on your plants as long as you dilute the lemon juice.

Don't spray direct lemon juice that is undiluted on your plants but you can spray diluted lemon juice on your plants.

The lemon juice will work to stop pets such as cats and dogs from eating your plant leafs.

You can also sprinkle chili powder or spices on plants to keep pets from eating them.

The lemon juice also helps to keep bugs away from the plants as well.

Among lemon's many home uses is as an insect repellent.

Moth balls, ant hotels, flea collars and bug sprays all contain toxic chemicals, so try using lemon as a cheap and natural way to get rid of unwanted pests around the home.

Lemon juice, for example, can sometimes help control small infestations of garden pests, such as ants, aphids and leaf beetles.

Because lemon juice is also an ingredient found in some natural herbicides, often coupled with vinegar, use it with caution so you do not cause more harm than good in the garden.

Mix 1 part oil of lemon eucalyptus or lavender essential oil with 10 parts witch hazel in the bottle.

(For each drop of oil, use 10 drops of witch hazel.)

Shake gently to mix.

Spray to apply.

Lemon is another known home remedy for ants.

The thought is that the acidic property of the lemon juice will mask the ants' scent trails and, as a result, deter them.

For this DIY ant control option, it is recommended to mix together one part lemon juice with three parts water and use it as an all-purpose spray.
