To avoid Toll Roads in Texas and other states you wan to avoid the interstates and take the other highways instead without tolls.

To get around Tolls you can look on Google Maps and select a route that avoids the Interstates and takes the back roads.

Or you can go to your Google Maps or other Map App such as Apple Maps and select the option to avoid tolls.
