Instead of a bed skirt you can use rugs, curtains, box spring wraps or flat sheets or even fitted sheets.

The function of a bed skirt is to hide the wooden or metal bed frame and create a nice modern look so use of anything else can work to work as a bed skirt.

Bedspreads are out of style and somewhat out of fashion for home but bedspreads are still in fashion enough for guest rooms or bedrooms of a retro style and most hotels and motels still use bedspreads.

You should wash your comforter and sheets as often as monthly or at least every 2 months.

I wash my comforters and sheets at least once or twice a month and I always have another comforter and sheets available should I need to wash my current sheets and comforters.

To shut your brain down to sleep you should start by getting into a bedtime routine which helps your brain know when it's time to fall asleep.

Start by going to bed and winding down at the same time each night.

About 30 minutes to an hour before bedtime shut off the TV, electronics etc and try reading a good book.

If you still can't get to sleep then try taking some melatonin supplements which is a hormone that your body needs to help your brain shut down for sleep.

In some cases you may need to take some sleeping pills as well.

Also try ridding your mind of any worries and bad thoughts and try focusing on good thoughts.

Do breathing exercises as well to help you relax.

Older adults are more likely to take naps during the daytime due to age-related changes in circadian rhythms and sleep patterns.
