Stevia is OK for dogs as it's a natural product although if consumed in large doses by dogs the Stevia may cause diarrhea and stomach upset in dogs.

Products that contain xylitol include sugar free gum, toothpaste, mouthwash as well as some peanut butters, drink powders, some baked goods, sugar free candies, sugar free foods, ketchup, pudding, BBQ Sauces.

Erythritol does not kill dogs as erthritol has been found safe for dogs.

Erythritol can however cause gastrointestinal distress in dogs if consumed in too large amounts.

A study that was done about the safety of erythritol and dogs concluded that daily erythritol consumption of up to 3.5 g/kg body weight was well tolerated.

However Xylitol is not safe for dogs and can kill dogs when consumed.

Dogs cannot and should not eat any chewing gum as it can contain Xylitol which is a toxic sugar substance to dogs which can lead to death.

Xylitol ingestion in dogs typically leads to extremely low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) caused by a massive release of insulin into the body.

Once this occurs symptoms begin to arise such as: Stumbling. Vomiting.

Gum is toxic for dogs when the gum contains Xylitol which is a sugar substance.

Xylitol is a sugar substance and acts quickly and can cause seizures and complete liver failure in a matter of hours.

Foods as well as drinks that can be toxic to dogs include.
Apple seeds.
Apricot Pits.
Cherry Pits.
Avocados.
Candy.
Chives.
Grapes.
Coffee and coffee beans.
Chocolate.

Most other foods are safe to feed dogs including peanut butter.

Peter Pan peanut butter is safe for dogs as it's xylitol free.

Any peanut butter that is Xylitol free is safe for dogs.

The most popular brands of peanut butter, such as Jif, Skippy, Smuckers and Peter Pan are all xylitol-free.

Peanut butter is a healthy treat in moderation for dogs although giving them too much could cause diarrhea and stomach upset.
