What are the symptoms of a bad rack and pinion?

How can you tell if the rack and pinion on your car is bad or going bad?

When you have a bad rack and pinion you might notice your car becomes harder to steer, you might also notice power steering fluid leaking, there also might be grinding sounds when you turn the steering wheel and you might notice a burning smell.
