The colors that cats see are green and blue although the pinks and red colors can be confusing to cats.

A cat is said to have the vision of a color blind human.

When it comes to what colors cats see best, it is believed that cats are able to easily detect blue hues.

More specifically, blue-violet hues are easiest for our felines to detect, but the yellow-green wavelengths of light are also easy to see.

Cats do cry as cats do have tear ducts that work the same as humans tear ducts.

However most often cats don't shed tears of sadness but as a away to keep their eyes moist.

Cat yowling sounds like a long low-pitched moan that comes from a cat's throat, often drawn-out and quite loud.

Unlike meowing, yowling is not only a feline-to-human communication but can be used to speak with other cats.

Once you've heard your cat yowling at night, you will never forget the sound.

Cats can smile but not in the same way as humans.

I've seen cats try to smile and it's pretty obvious although it's not the same type of smile that humans can do.

Cats can't laugh like humans do although they can show happiness and excitement through other ways.

I've known cats to grin and somewhat smile when they think something is funny but they can't actually laugh although they may be laughing inside without us knowing.

Cats don't have a language they speak although cats speak through meowing which is a language that other cats understand.

A cat's vocal cords and mouth aren't capable of producing the same sounds that humans do.

And it's physically impossible for cats to learn to speak any language, English included.

Cats don't understand what you stay as they lack the capability to actually understand human language but cats can understand and recognize your voice.

Cats lack the cognitive skills to interpret human language, but they recognize when you talk to them.

To put it another way, cats comprehend human language in the same way that we understand meowing.

It's similar to how you interpret your cat's language by "reading" how they arch their back or swish their tail.

Cats do recognize their owners face and the peoples faces around them.

When a cat sees you and they know you they may come running up to you and want attention and be excited to see you.

Cats show you their belly because they are showing affection and want your attention and some cats may also want you to rub their belly when they roll over and show you their belly.

Cats sit on your lap as they love your attention and want to be close to you.

The cat may also sit on your lap because they want you to pet them and comfort them or just cuddle with you.

Cats will bite you and then lick you as a way to mix their scent together with your scent as well as to show affection towards you.

When your cat sits on your chest and stares at you it means your cat wants attention and is likely wanting to be petted.

Your cat may also sit on your chest and stare at you when sleeping as they are showing love and affection for you.

Cats can and do miss their humans.

When a cat becomes attached to a human they can get sad when the human is not around and their have been cats that have starved themselves to death when their owner has died.

The cat loses the will to live without the human and so they don't eat and die as a result.

Cats put their paws on your face as a way to get your attention, because they want food, want to play, want to show trust and affection.

Your cat will bury her face in your arm as a way to check on your health and show affection and love towards you.

Cats sometimes bury their head or face in your arms when they are experiencing anxiety and needing to comfort themselves as well.

Cats can see very well in the dark because cats have large corneas and pupils, which are about 50% larger than humans', allow more light into their eyes.

This extra light helps the cats to see in the dark.

When cats knead it means the cat is comforting themselves and showing pleasure.

Kneading in cats is a behavior frequently observed in domestic cats where, when a cat feels at ease, it may push out and pull in its front paws against a surface such as furniture or carpet, often alternating between right and left limbs.

Kneading is an instinctive behavior for cats, so unless the kneading behavior is truly bothersome, let your cat knead in peace and try to enjoy it.

Adult cats continue this kneading behavior when they're feeling most relaxed, content, and loved.

That's often when they're being petted on their owner's lap.

Think of kneading as a distinct expression of adoration.

Cats are territorial creatures, and one of the ways they safeguard their turf is to scent-mark their belongings.

By kneading their paws on the surface of something (yes, including you), they're activating the scent glands in their soft paw pads, thereby marking that item as theirs.

Below are some common signs that your cat loves you.

Slow Blinking. Eyes are said to be the windows to the soul.
Headbutting. Your cat may bump their head against you or rub their cheeks against you to show affection.
    Grooming.
    Kneading.
    Showing Their Belly.
    Meowing.
    Purring.
    Greeting You at the Door.

In many cases, soft, gentle purrs signal your cat's satisfaction with the world, providing an audible sign of her contentment.

But purring doesn't always indicate happiness; some cats also purr when they are hungry or stressed.
