I found this old article dated back in 2010 on wisebread about going without heat.

Could or would you go without heat in the winter to save money?

Me the answer to both are NO.

I figure the money I spend on heat to stay warm in the winter is money well spent.

No I wouldn't. Those people are crazy to live without heat by choice.

I'm all for saving money when I can. But not turning on heat to save that money is where I draw the line.

That answer is a big fat NO.

I once went without heat for 24 hours when the power got knocked out by an ice storm.

I didn't have any other heat source to keep warm.

I just bundled up and made do. But there's no way I'd volunteer to keep my heat off to save money.
