Babies can be around rubbing alcohol although it must be kept out of reach of babies and you should not use rubbing alcohol on babies as it can dry out their skin.

For years, doctors and parents sponged rubbing alcohol onto kids' skin to treat fevers.

It does make skin cooler to the touch, but today, science shows that alcohol is dangerous because it can soak into the skin and cause alcohol poisoning, coma, and even death, especially for babies and small children.

The fact that it works so quickly is part of the problem.

Cooling your child too fast with alcohol is counterproductive because he may start to shiver, which signals his body to raise his temperature.

Alcohol is also easily absorbed through the skin or through the lungs when inhaled.

Inhaling Isopropyl Alcohol can irritate the nose and throat.

Repeated high exposure can cause headache, dizziness, confusion, loss of coordination, unconsciousness and even death.

DANGEROUS FIRE HAZARD.

Small amounts of alcohol can cause symptoms in young children.

Even inhaling rubbing alcohol can make a child sick.

Children who have consumed alcohol need to be treated right away. Glucose may be given intravenously (IV).

Inhaling large amounts of isopropyl alcohol can cause nausea, vomiting, irritation of the nose and mucous membranes, throat irritations, and even difficulty with breathing as coughing can occur making it difficult for you to catch your breath.
