To kill slugs you can pour salt on the slugs which dries the slugs out and dehydrates them which kills them.

You can also make a beer trap or water trap to catch and kill and drown the slugs.

You can easily drown snails in some soapy water or even some beer.

You can fill a trap or bowl with soapy water and the slugs will drown that way or fill a bowl or bottle that you cup open with some beer and the beer will attract the slugs and they will crawl in and die.

Beer does kill slugs as the beer attracts the slugs and when the slugs crawl into the beer and cannot get out they eventually die.

To make a slug beer trap simply cut off a 2 liter bottle top and then put the cut 2 liter bottle with the top removed into the ground after digging a hole.

Then put some beer halfway into the bottle and the slugs will be attracted to the beer and crawl in and drown and die.

You can also set a metal pie pan on the ground and place beer in it as well to kill slugs.

Slugs do not and cannot get drunk.

If you use beer traps to trap and kill slugs the slugs will die without getting drunk from the alcohol or beer.

The genus that a slug is, is the Ariolimax genus.

The gastropods (/ˈɡæstrəpɒdz/), commonly known as snails and slugs, belong to a large taxonomic class of invertebrates within the phylum Mollusca called Gastropoda (/ɡæsˈtrɒpədə/).

Slugs can and do drown if they stay in the water too long.

Although slugs can be underwater and have the ability to breathe underwater it's only for a few hours that they can do so before the slug drowns in the water.

Slugs can breathe in water and under water but only for a few hours before they drown.

Slugs can withstand brief periods of immersion under water, although they drown after several hours.

Slugs do feel pain but only slightly and not as bad as humans and other animals do.

Slugs have a simple nervous system therefore their ability to feel pain is limited.

Slugs mate by inserting their penis into the other slug to insert sperm to produce baby slugs.

In order to mate the slugs lower themselves on a mucus rope, while entwining their bodies in a strictly anti-clockwise fashion.

Both slugs then push out and entwine two overly-sized penises from openings on the side of their head, before exchanging sperm that may later fertilize each of their eggs.

Or, perhaps be eaten.

Slugs are hermaphrodites which means that they can reproduce with both males and females.

Slugs only need to find a mate to exchange sperm with to reproduce.

Slugs have evolved for many years and have become hermaphrodites.

Slugs only need to mate, and either or both parties can become pregnant.

Slugs are both good and bad.

Slugs are good for the soil and good for the environment although slugs can also be bad in that they can harm humans, dogs and other animals through infecting them with a parasite worm and bacteria.

Slugs break down garden debris and turn it into nitrogen-rich fertilizer that enhances soil nutrition (similar to worm composting).

The slugs are also are a natural food source for many beneficial insects, birds, frogs, snakes, and toads.

A snail can kill you by infecting you with parasite worms which can be deadly.

The freshwater snail carries parasitic worms that infect people with a disease called schistosomiasis that can cause intense abdominal pain and blood in the stool or urine, depending on the area that's affected.

A slug can in some cases kill a dog if they infect the dog with bacteria.

Besides causing your dog to have an upset stomach, eating slugs can cause dogs to contract lungworm, a potentially deadly condition if left untreated.

Lungworm is a parasite that attacks the blood vessels in the heart and lungs.

Slugs can sometimes infect humans and animals such as dogs with lungworm.

Although most often slugs are harmless although they can be an annoyance as well.

Slugs are mostly harmless but slugs can make you sick if they bite you or crawl across your skin as they carry a parasite which can lead to lungworm.

Slugs can actually kill you if they infect you with a parasite known as a lungworm.

The slug carries a parasitic nematode (Angiostrongylus cantonensis) known as the rat lungworm which can infect humans if the slug bites the human.

Slugs can bite humans if they wanted too.

However as long as you don't touch or pick up the slug then it will mostly stay away from you and not try to bite you.

It's not recommended to pick up a slug unless you're wearing some gloves to prevent the potential of getting bitten although getting bitten by the slug is very rare.

Slugs are mostly attracted to things such as moisture, water, warmth, plant leaves, fruit plants etc.

Even having pet food such as cat food, dog food or even food crumbs laying out can attract slugs to your house.

Copper pennies that were mostly made of copper would actually repel slugs.

But now pennies are made mostly of Zinc and not all copper so they are not as good at repelling slugs as they used to be.

You can use regular copper to repel slugs as the slugs will not cross the path of copper as they hate copper.

A slug does not feel pain the same way we humans do but from research the slug likely feels a tingling sensation instead of actual pain.

If a slug is chopped up, cut, stepped on etc they won't feel the pain like us humans would feel the pain.

Slugs don't have a cerebral cortex which is the part of the brain responsible for the conscious perception of pain.

Slugs usually come into your house at night for warmth, shade or even food etc.

The Yellow Cellar slug mostly eats mold and algae but can also be found eating leftovers, pet food and compost.

Slugs including the yellow cellar slug also is attracted to dark damp refuges such as vents and drains so make sure to remove any standing water and get rid of dampness around your house.

You can use salt to kill slugs when they come into your house.

Just pour some regular table salt onto the slugs body and the salt will dry out the slugs body and dehydrate the slug which causes the slug to do.

The salt slowly kills the slugs and it's a safe and natural way to kill slugs.

Putting some Epsom Salt around areas where the slugs come inside can also help repel the slugs.

Also check for where the slugs are coming in and seal any holes or entry ways for the slugs so they cannot get in.
