I go to a small convenience store that charges a convenience fee for the use of a credit card and I don't mind because I know it costs them money for me to use my credit card.

But the States that prohibit and make it illegal to charge a surcharge fee for use of credit cards are Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Florida, Kansas, Colorado, Connecticut and California.

Those states forbid and make it illegal to charge credit card surcharges for purchases at a store.
