Only around 9 percent of parents use cloth diapers while the rest of the parents use disposable diapers.

Cloth diapers require a lot of work and they are not free to use as you have to factor in cost for water, electricity, laundry soap and your time to clean the cloth diapers.

Disposable diapers are much healthier and require less work and are more sanitary and more comfortable for babies and toddlers to wear.

Some daycare centers do allow cloth diapers.

However some daycare centers have their own policies that prohibit the use of cloth diapers while in daycare.

Most daycare centers require disposable diapers although you can use cloth diapers at home and disposables in daycare.

Laundromats do allow cloth diapers to be washed although you should make sure the poop is removed from the cloth diapers as much as possible before putting them in the washing machine.

Cloth nappies and cloth diapers can be better for babies although they also leave the baby feeling wet which is not good.

Cloth nappies and cloth diapers do tend to help babies potty train faster but the wetness of the cloth diapers can lead to diaper rashes if you don't change the cloth diaper often enough.

The cloth diapers are healthier in that they are free of chemicals, perfumes etc but other than that the cloth diapers are not that much better for babies.

Cloth diapers are not bad for babies hips.

Although cloth diapers spread a babies legs and hips out wide than disposables the wider spread of the babies hips are actually good for the baby as a newborn and for their development.

To deal with poop in cloth diapers you should first scrape out as much poop as you can from the cloth diaper.

Then soak the cloth diaper in a bucket of water and soap and then spray off as much poop as you can.

Then wash the cloth diapers as normal in the washing machine.

Cloth diapers can lead to and cause UTI in girls and sometimes boys as well.

However if you change the cloth diaper as often as it should be changed and wipe the baby up properly and at every diaper change the baby or toddler should not get a UTI from the cloth diaper alone.

Even in disposable diapers babies and toddlers can get UTI or urinary tract infections if not changed properly and often enough.

With cloth diapers the urine is still sitting against the child's skin and wearing a cloth diaper with pee is just about like sitting in a wet towel or wet underwear.

Disposable absorb the pee and hold it away from the skin which makes disposable diapers actually healthier for babies and toddlers to wear.

Cloth diapers do not make babies bow legged.

Babies are actually bow legged already because of the babies legs being folded in the mothers womb.

Diapers whether cloth diapers or disposable diapers do not make the babies legs bow legged so it's okay to use cloth diapers.

However cloth diapers that are too thick may actually make the babies legs spread out so that it's harder for the baby to walk when they begin walking.

So cloth diapers could hinder the babies development when walking and make it harder for them to walk.

Thinner disposable diapers however can make it easier for the baby to walk in than cloth diapers because they are not as thick.

Diapers introduce bulk between the babies legs, potentially exacerbating infants' poor balance and wide stance.

It's been shown that walking is adversely affected by old-fashioned cloth diapers, and that even modern disposable diapers habitually worn by most infants incur a cost relative to walking naked.

There's no way to prevent your baby from getting bowed legs.

But you may be able to prevent certain conditions that are known to cause bowed legs.

To prevent rickets, make sure your child is getting enough vitamin D and calcium in their diet.

Some of the disadvantages of using cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers include.

They require washing.

A newborn may require up to 12 diapers a day, and toddlers need around six to eight diapers a day.

They can be inconvenient.

These require large upfront capital because the initial investment for cloth diapers is much more than disposables.
