The Dogo Argentino dog breed is not extinct as of now but the Dogo Argentino is a rare dog breed and it's close to extinction.

The Dogo Argentino is a large, white, muscular breed of dog that was developed in Argentina primarily for the purpose of big-game hunting, including wild boar.

The breeder, Antonio Nores Martínez, also wanted a dog that would exhibit steadfast bravery and willingly protect its human companion.

Dogo Argentinos are very loyal to their families, including children, so long as they are introduced and accustomed to them.

However, visiting children may present a bit more of a challenge, as this breed does not naturally take to strangers.

Despite the similarities in appearance Dogo Argentinos are not directly related to Pitbulls.

Based on its origins to the Cordoba Fighting Dog , Dogo Argentinos are considered to be a Mastiff breed.

The Pitbull stems from the bull-and-terrier breed type of dog that consisted of Old English Bulldogs and terrier dogs.

While this dog is rarer, they typically aren't that expensive.

The price of a puppy averages from $1,000.00 to $4,000.00, assuming you purchase them from a qualified breeder.

Some dogs may cost as much as $8,000.00 if they have a particularly good bloodline.
