Dogs do get cold just like humans.

Although dogs have fur the dog can still get cold and even freeze to death outside in the freezing cold weather.

If it's too cold out for you then it's too cold out for the dog as well.

The dog that lives the longest is the Australian Cattle Dog.

An Australian Cattle dog named Bluey actually lived to age 29 years old which is very old for a dog.

Most larger dogs barely make it past age 12 to 14 years old so a dog living to 29 years old is very impressive.

Some dogs can live 20 years such as small dog breeds.

Although larger dogs will very unlikely make it past age 12 to 13 years old.

16 is considered old for a dog.

Even 12 and 15 is considered old for a dog which is around 80 to 110 years in human years.

15 is old for a dog.

Most small dogs live on average of 15 to 20 years although some small dogs may die sooner.

Larger dogs are lucky to live to 12 to 13 years and some dogs such as the Great Dane live up to 8 years.

13 year old dogs may whine due to being in pain, hearing loss, anxiety and cognitive problems.

At 13 a dog is considered old and older dogs do normally whine which is normal.

Separation anxiety can affect dogs of any age but often becomes worse as they age.

They may also whine when something scares them like a loud noise or changes in the environment.

Elderly dogs that are stressed or anxious may also tremble or pant.

Anxiety is a frequent reason why a dog may be whining at night.

A 13- to 15-year-old dog, depending on the dogs size and health, is roughly equivalent to a 70- to 115-year-old person.

In the dogs elder years, it is harder for your dog to learn new things.

In fact, the older dog likely will be resistant to changes in their surroundings and routine.

Keep your daily routines as consistent as possible.

Maintain low energy levels to reduce any excitement within your home.

Play soothing music throughout the day, and consider more ways to create a zen space for your dog.
