To rehydrate a baby you can give them small amounts of water or some diluted formula to get them fluids.

If your baby is not really hungry but is needing hydration you can dilute the formula some and that will keep the baby from getting filled up.

A little bit of water in small amounts at a time won't hurt the baby and will hydrate them.

Older babies above 6 months old can drink more water and by 1 year old or so they can have some pedialyte or fruit juices.

For mild dehydration in a child age 1 to 11:

Give extra fluids in frequent, small sips, especially if the child is vomiting.
Choose clear soup, clear soda, or Pedialyte, if possible.
Give popsicles, ice chips, and cereal mixed with milk for added water or fluid.
Continue a regular diet.

Although sometimes a baby may pee more than normal during the night because of low levels of of a natural substance called antidiuretic hormone (ADH).

The most common cause of leakage is fitting your baby with the wrong diaper size.

So start by checking if the diaper size is right for your baby.

Note also that the amount of pee increases as your baby grows.

By the time your baby is 12 months old, the amount of pee discharged in a day will be twice that of a newborn.

Babies pee a lot because babies have small bladders and they also have no bladder control.

So as the babies bladder gets pee in it they release it so they pee even before the bladder is full.

As the baby gets older the baby will pee less and less as they gain bladder control.

If your baby is peeing a lot then it's a good sign they are hydrated properly.

A 9 week old baby should be bathed at least once or twice per week.

You don't want to bathe the 9 week old baby too much or you can dry out the babies skin.

Wiping them down with a sponge or a wet washcloth is good enough most other times.

A baby bedtime routine should take between 15 to 20 minutes although it sometimes takes as long as 1 hour for the baby bedtime routine.

While a newborn bedtime routine should typically take 15 to 20 minutes, it may take longer depending on how long baby takes to nurse or bottle-feed.

A baby should sleep in the parents room until they are at least 6 months of age.

Although I prefer to have my babies sleep in my room with me and until at least 18 months of age or even 2 years of age.

Having your baby sleep in your room for at least the first six months (and ideally up to a year) can help lower the risk of SIDS.

Things you can do with a newborn all day are hold the newborn and rock them back and forth, give them raspberries by blowing on their stomach, go for a walk with your newborn, make funny faces, sink nursery rhymes to them.

Smile, stick out your tongue, and make other expressions for your infant to study, learn, and imitate.

Use a favorite toy for your newborn to focus on and follow, or shake a rattle for your infant to find.

Let your baby spend some awake time on his or her tummy to help strengthen the neck and shoulders.

Newborns should have at least 3 poops per day which is normal.

Although some newborns may poop as much as 4 to 12 times per day which is also very normal and nothing to worry about.

When a baby is a newborn they will typically poop a lot more than they do when they are older.

Newborns also pass meconium by 24-48 hours after birth.

The hardest stage of taking care of a baby is usually the first 3 months of the babies life or even sometimes the month after the baby is born.

Eventually the baby will get a bit easier to take care of as it grows which happens quickly.

While it'll get easier with each passing day, you can expect caring for your newborn will be much easier by the time they're about three months old.

As you're waiting with anticipation for when caring for your newborn gets easier, it's important to make sure you're taking good care of yourself as well.

A baby is considered to be a newborn baby from the ages of birth until 2 months of age.

After 2 months of age baby is no longer considered to be a newborn and is now just considered a baby or infant.

Infants are considered to be infants from anywhere from birth to 1 year old.

The term baby can be used to refer to any child from birth to age 4 years old, thus encompassing newborns, infants, and toddlers

Newborn babies only need to be bathed every few days or so.

Wiping the newborn down with a wet washcloth is good enough most days unless the newborn has a poop explosion or diarrhea then it would be good to bathe them more often if that is occurring.

However you don't want to bathe the newborn too often as it dries out the newborns skin.

Babies only really need a bath every 2 to 3 days until they are a year old or older.

So a newborn can be bathed every 2 or 3 days but if the newborn needs a bath more often than that you can give the newborn daily baths.

When your baby is first born and you bring the newborn home from the hospital you should wait at least 24 hours after bringing the baby home to give them a bath.

Unless the baby happens to poop on their clothes etc and gets poop or vomit all over them then just simply wiping them down with wet wash cloths etc is usually good enough to keep the newborn baby clean enough.

But if you want to or need to bathe your baby once per day that is okay.

But as long as you're bathing your newborn every 3 days that is also good enough.
