Carmex is not harmful when used as intended.

However some people may have allergic reactions to the ingredients in Carmex but overall the Carmex is pretty safe.

Camphor in Carmex lip balm may also cause allergic reactions in some people.

This may manifest with signs of redness and irritations on the lips.

Carmex contains synthetic and natural fragrances which could be irritating to people with sensitive skin and may cause allergic reactions.

The safety of refined mineral oil or petrolatum has been confirmed by long-term use in various cosmetics and pharmaceuticals and proven through multiple competent studies, which show no toxic or carcinogenic response.

Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
