When I was 8 years old and living in New Jersey, Mom drove to Pittsburgh, Elizabeth township, PA to visit my Grandma and Aunt Ruthie, my cousin's. I was back in diapers that whole 2 weeks. I miss those days

You should not force your kids to wear diapers on road trips.

However if your kid is 8 or under and they have a hard time holding it or if they are a bed wetter and wet during naps or nighttime then have them wear a diaper just in case.

A diaper can keep them from wetting their pants and keep them from having to hold it in.

Kids bladders are smaller than adults and so they will need to pee more often.

Of course stop often to allow them to use the toilet but if they wear a diaper and can't hold it then they can just pee the diaper.

Or at least have the child wear a pull up.

They can still use the toilet when needed and when they can do so but the diaper can be just in case.

Sometimes bathrooms are several miles apart and kids have to pee more often than adults.
