The language that Federer speaks at home is Swiss German which is his native tongue.

However Federer also speaks fluent German, French and English.

He can also converse functionally in Swedish and Italian, while he also has some Spanish and Afrikaans (thanks to his South African mother) in his repertoire.

However, he stuck the academy out for three years before moving to Biel, back near his hometown of Basel.

Today, Federer moves as easily from speaking German to English or French, as he does from hitting a forehand to a backhand or volley.

Roger Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player.

He has been ranked world No. 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals for 310 weeks, including a record 237 consecutive weeks, and has finished as the year-end No. 1 five times.

Federer has been sidelined since his knee surgery, missing both the US Open and Australian Open in the process.

As a result, the former world number one has seen his ranking fall to 26th as of late March.

Federer was the more dominant player in his prime the way things stand right now.

He crushed the tour at three different major venues, while Djokovic has shown similar, even greater dominance at the Australian Open and is making a special mark at Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic won 83% of the games he played in his career (911 wins to 187 losses).

On hard courts, Federer won 83.3% of his matches, Djokovic 84.5%. On clay courts, Federer won 76.1% of his matches, Djokovic 79.6%. On grass, Federer won 87.4% of his matches, Djokovic 84.1%.

I am always in awe of people who speak many languages. I don't think I'll be able to achieve that kind of result.
