A 2 year old should watch some TV.

However a 2 year old should not watch TV all day but watching an hour or two of TV a day is okay.

Babies younger than two years old view TV as a confusing array of colors, images, and noises.

They don't understand much of the content.

Since the average TV scene lasts five to eight seconds, your baby or toddler doesn't have enough time to digest what's happening.

Some TV time is okay but too much TV time can be bad.

But too much screen time can be a bad thing: Children who often spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV or using media are more likely to be overweight.

Kids who view violence onscreen are more likely to show aggressive behavior, and to fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them.

For kids aged 2 to 5, screen time should be limited to 1 hour per day, and parents should watch the programs with their child.

Also, parents should have times when screens are turned off, and bedrooms should be media-free.

Studies have shown that kids who watch too much TV are more likely to be overweight and, depending on the content of what they see, more aggressive.

Excess TV viewing also has been linked to poor grades, sleep problems, and behavior problems.
