Some ways to keep your car cool in hot weather in the summer are.

Park your car in the shade.
Use car window shades.
Tint your windows.
Leave car windows open slightly.
Turn the floor air vents on.
Use the fresh air setting instead of recirculation on your A/C.
Keep your eye on the car temperature gauge.
Turn on the heat to cool the engine.

An engine head itself can reach temperatures as high as 2,000 F to 4,500 F degrees but the engine coolant temp should be well below that.

Depending on the engine block, it can reach temperatures of 100 to 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

Normal coolant temperature should be at most 220 F degrees.

Normal coolant temps range from 195 F to 220 F degrees.

A temperature above 230 F is too hot for a car engine.

Although normal operating temp for a car engine is between 195 F to 220 F the engine may get slightly hotter during hot weather but it should not get too hot.

230 F degrees is considered too hot for an engine.

However if it does not get any hotter than 230 F then it should be okay but if the temperature rises above 230 F then the engine should be shut off to cool down as it is overheating.

During hot weather the temperature of the engine may climb slightly higher than normal but it should not get above 230 F.

Normal operating temperature for cars engines in F is between 195 F to 220 F and if it gets above that then it could be overheating.

Cars can and do work in all temperatures.

However if the temperature is very, very cold such as -30 or below it may be hard for the engine to crank over and start and the oil can be slow to move around.

If the weather is really hot then the engine may not cool as good but even then the car will still operate.

As long as your engine temperature gauge does not get into the danger zone reading then the car will be safe.

However if the temperature gauge continues rising and does not come down then your engine is likely overheating which could be caused by a bad head gasket, coolant leak, clogged radiator, bad radiator hoses or even a bad water pump.

The engine is overheated when it reaches a temperature of 231 degrees.

Damage may occur if the temperature is above 245 degrees Fahrenheit.

Why Do Engines Overheat?

Engines can overheat for many reasons.

In general, it's because something's wrong within the cooling system and heat isn't able to escape the engine compartment.

The source of the issue could include a cooling system leak, faulty radiator fan, broken water pump, or clogged coolant hose.
