A male nurse or male doctor can work in labor and delivery.

When I was born a male nurse was the one who helped my mom deliver me and I have a few friends that work as male nurses and they have delivered babies as well.

A male nurse is supposed to be professional and there should be no issues with a male nurse working in labor and delivery.

Make doctors have delivered babies for many years even before hospitals and modern medicine were around.

Even some males are gynecologists and can and do look at a woman's vagina which is normal and okay.

Although most woman prefer female gynecologists and female nurses when looking at them down their, sometimes they don't have a choice in who delivers the baby.

Among practicing OB-GYNs in the U.S., a little fewer than half are men, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, formerly known as the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. But ACOG predicts that 10 years from now, two-thirds of the doctors in that specialty will be female.

Gynecologists specialize in women's sexual and reproductive health care. Physicians who specialize in men's sexual and reproductive health care including the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the male sex and reproductive organs are called urologists.
