Bananas are good for colitis and when you have colitis the bananas can help as they are very healthy and easy to digest and rich in potassium .

People with irritable bowel disorders, like ulcerative colitis, are often deficient in this mineral.

When you have colitis the poop will usually be bloody and may be bright red, tarry or pink looking.

It is common to have bloody stool with ulcerative colitis.

The colitis condition does typically get worse at night.

Inflammation from damage and flare-ups produce cytokines that directly alter sleep patterns and can disrupt the stages of sleep.

However sometimes the symptoms with Ulcerative Colitis may go away for awhile and then come back.

The difference between colitis and ulcerative colitis is that ulcerative colitis is more severe and lifelong while colitis is less severe and usually not lifelong.
