Hospitals don't do cremation and instead the cremation of the body is done by a funeral home or cremation service.

This is true for babies who die at birth or anyone who dies at the hospital.

You can actually take the dead body including a dead relative or dead baby with you to a funeral home to be cremated or buried.

The hospital will issue you paperwork that states the cause of death.

Stillborn babies are sometimes embalmed although it's not always done unless you want it done.

When you have a stillborn baby you can have the hospital transfer the stillborn baby to a funeral home and they will usually provide a small free coffin or offer free cremation or burial of the stillborn baby.

Stillborn babies do not usually suffer as the death of a stillborn baby is usually quick and painless and the baby is unaware of the dying.
