Yes being able to sing is a born talent.
Although most people can learn to sing pretty good it takes born talent to be able to sing really great.
The famous singers that are making millions of dollars singing were born with a really great singing voice already.
Some people just have a great singing voice and some people do not.
It's okay if you're not able to sing very good but you may be able to learn to sing somewhat good but if your voice and vocal cords are not that great to begin with then you won't be able to gain the singing talent.
For example my brother is a great singer and I'm terrible at it.
I believe he gained the good singing voice from his dad who played in a band years ago.
My brother does not want to get into singing professionally but I'm sure he could if he tried.
He has that great country singing voice.
