USPS Tracking Out for Delivery and Available for pickup but no delivery?

I was supposed to receive a package today that I order off ebay 4 days ago.

The delivery date said today and the tracking number and tracking information on USPS says that it's out for delivery today and that it's at my local post office where I get my mail?

I get my USPS mail at the post office and I went to check the mail today and the package was not there but the post office had already closed for the day early because it's Saturday.

Anyone else experience this with USPS saying package is at local post office and out for delivery and not get the package?

When USPS tracking says out for delivery but you haven't got it then it could mean that they scanned the package from another post office before delivery to your post office and the tracking on USPS can sometimes say that your package is at your local post office when in fact it's not.

Sometimes I'll have USPS tracking say that my package is out for delivery and is at my local post office when actually it was still at the other post office that does the final delivery to my post office.

So I usually get the package on the next day after it says out for delivery and USPS tracking is not all that reliable.

So since today is Saturday you should get the package in your mailbox by Monday or at least by Tuesday.

If you haven't gotten the package by Monday you should ask the post office to make sure the package is there because sometimes the package can get lost.

I wouldn't worry until a few more days and then you might want to contact the seller who shipped the item.

You should first go see the post office about the package and bring your tracking number to the post office because they have ways of looking up the package through a GPS system to track down the package.
