Are hat pins allowed on planes?

Certain airlines can have individual rules prohibiting things however on most airlines I've went on and went through TSA the hair pins have always been allowed to go through the TSA check and I've been able to keep the hat pins on my hats when flying on the plane.

So in most cases airlines will allow hat pins on the airplanes.

When flying on airplanes I've seen many people wear hats on the plane with hat pins so I would say that it's allowed to wear hat pins on the airplanes but airlines can make there own rules as to what is and what isn't allowed.

So it can vary depending on the individual airport.
