It is okay to eat a week old pumpkin pie as long as the pumpkin pie has not actually gone bad.

Homemade pumpkin pies are usually good for between 2 to 4 days in the refrigerator and store bought pumpkin pies are usually good for a week or sometimes longer after purchasing.

Refrigerating the pumpkin pie helps it last longer and freezing the pumpkin pie can help the pumpkin pie last as long as 6 to 9 months.

If the pumpkin pie was sitting at room temperature in the store, it can continue to be stored on your counter until the sell-by date.

In general, store-bought pies last about 2 to 4 days after their printed date in the refrigerator and about 6 to 9 months in the freezer.

Pumpkin Pies do need to be refrigerated to prevent spoilage.

Store Bought Pumpkin pies are safe to leave out until you cut into them and then they must be refrigerated but even then the pumpkin pie should be kept refrigerated to make it last longer.

And homemade pumpkin pie can be left at room temperature for two hours, after which it is in danger of growing harmful bacteria.

Homemade pumpkin pie is safe in the fridge for 2 to 4 days, so you should refrigerate pumpkin pie after it cools.

Any recipes that are made with milk and eggs must be refrigerated within two hours of baking.

Like quiches, cheesecakes, and other dairy-heavy recipes with a creamy, custardy texture, pumpkin pie can not sit out at room temperature for very long—even if you reheat them before serving.

Pumpkin Pie will last for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.

A freshly baked pumpkin pie or store bought pumpkin pie will last for up to 4 days as long as you keep the pumpkin pie refrigerated.

If you want to keep the pumpkin pie for longer than 4 days you can freeze the pumpkin pie instead and when frozen the pumpkin pie can last up to a year but the pumpkin pie may not taste as good after 6 months when frozen.

You can thaw the pumpkin pie out in the refrigerator overnight and then heat the pumpkin pie back up in the oven for 10 to 20 minutes or until the pumpkin pie is heated up enough for you.

Pumpkin Pie should not be left out overnight or longer than 2 hours because pumpkin pie can grow bacteria in it if left out at room temperature longer than 2 hours.

So if you're not eating or serving the pumpkin pie within 2 hours then make sure to refrigerate it to keep it safe from bacteria.

You can put a hot pumpkin pie in the fridge if you want too and it will be just fine.

Although it will make your refrigerator come on and stay on longer so that the refrigerator can cool down the heat from the pumpkin pie.

It's recommended that you allow the pumpkin pie to cool down for at least 30 minutes before putting the pumpkin pie into the refrigerator.

I've also left pumpkin pies out overnight and they've been fine even though it's best to refrigerate the pumpkin pie after cooking it if you don't plan to eat it or serve it within the same day or within a few hours.

Leaving a pumpkin pie out overnight is fine and the pumpkin pie will still remain safe to eat the next day without refrigeration.

I've heard before that you should refrigerate the pumpkin pie when not eating or serving it to prevent bacteria from growing on the pumpkin pie.

Pumpkin pies are usually made with eggs, milk and cream which can go bad when left out longer than a few hours.

However while it's recommended to refrigerate pumpkin pie when not eating it within a few hours the pumpkin pie will remain safe to eat when left out overnight.
