While the stomach flu and the regular flu can feel about the same the stomach flu also known as "Gastroenteritis" is caused by an entirely different virus than the Influenza virus and the stomach flu isn't as serious as the influenza virus.
So the regular flu and the stomach flu are different and not the same viruses.
