No. Cologuard is not a replacement for a colonoscopy.
Cologuard is a good product that can help detect potential Colon Cancer.
However even Cologuard admits that the tests they send to you through the mail can result in a false positive so that means that Cologuard is not as accurate as an actual colonoscopy.
It is a good thing to use though to check for potential colon cancer but you should still get a colonoscopy when needed.
The colonoscopy is much more accurate than Cologuard or any other test that you can do at home.
My husband used Cologuard and it did result in a false positive but when he had a colonoscopy the tests showed that he didn't have any colon cancer which was a good thing.
So always still get your colonoscopy when needed because if you do have colon cancer it can usually be cured as long as it's found and treated soon enough.
