Corn Pudding cannot be left out overnight as it contains perishable ingredients which can spoil if left out overnight.

To prevent corn pudding from spoiling the corn pudding should not be left out longer than 3 to 4 hours and should be refrigerated if leaving it overnight.

If the corn pudding has sat out overnight or longer than 4 hours it should be thrown out.

Corn pudding is a creamy culinary dish prepared from stewed corn, water, any of various thickening agents, and optional additional flavoring or texturing ingredients.

It is typically used as a food staple in rural communities in the Southern United States, especially in Appalachia.

This tasty, sweet corn side dish is popular in the Southern United States and in some places along the East Coast.

The starch from the corn thickens a savory custard mixture of eggs and milk, creating a satisfyingly creamy, sweet-yet-savory twist on your same old way of serving corn.

Another thing to love about corn pudding is that it can be served alongside almost any main dish roast chicken, grilled steaks, holiday hams, you name it.

It's a fantastic potluck dish for this reason.

Or you could serve it as a vegetarian main dish alongside a simple salad or some roasted vegetables and crusty bread.

Corn pudding probably originated from the same Native American cooking technique that created corn pone: Cornmeal and water cooked together until it formed thick mush.

These days, most Southerners routinely eat the descendants of pone in the form of cornbread, spoon bread, corn fritters and hush puppies.
