If your dog bites someone you should confine your dog to a crate or other room because likely your dog will be taken by the animal control for awhile to be sure no rabies are present within the dog.

This sometimes happens and sometimes it doesn't. But it depends on the local ordinances in your area. If your dog doesn't have rabies then the dog will be returned to you so don't cause any trouble if they want to take your dog away from you.

It's normal procedure.

After you have your dog crated or confined you should seek medical attention or at least try to seek medical attention for the dog bite victim.

Be nice and sympathetic to the dog bite victim as well and tell them you're sorry that your dog bit them.

Being nice to them will go a long way in preventing any serious legal problems down the way and may even keep you from being sued.
